About Loom Mosaic
Loom Mosaic is a small set of free tools for patchwork quilters: a block designer for squares and half-square triangles, and calculators for quilt size, half-square triangles, binding and backing. There is no sign-up and nothing to install.
How it works
Every calculation runs in your web browser. The block you design, the sizes you type and the blocks you save stay on your device; saved blocks live in your browser's local storage until you delete them. The privacy page explains exactly what is and is not sent anywhere.
Where the numbers come from
Each tool lists its sources at the bottom of its page: quilting guides from Utah State University Extension, Missouri Star Quilt Co., Quilting Daily, C&T Publishing and others, and Wikipedia for mattress sizes. Where a size is worked out from geometry rather than taken from a chart, such as four- and eight-at-a-time half-square triangles, the page shows how.
Quilting habits differ. Seam allowances, drops, binding widths and longarm margins are all matters of preference, so every default can be changed. The results are a careful starting point, not a guarantee: make a test block before cutting into a large piece of fabric.
